The Process

Four steps.
You just show up.

01

Message us

Open WhatsApp or LINE and send us the venue name or link, your preferred date and time, party size, and the name for the reservation. A concierge replies right away.

02

We make the call

Our Japanese-speaking concierge contacts the venue directly by phone or email and secures your booking — including dietary needs, occasions and seating preferences.

03

Pay to confirm

Once your seat is secured, we send a secure card payment link in the chat. Your reservation is locked in the moment you pay. No payment is ever requested before your booking is secured.

04

Show up

You receive everything in writing — confirmed time, the name your reservation is under, the venue's cancellation policy, and any house rules. Nothing left to chance.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Can you book any restaurant in Japan? +

Yes. Izakaya, ramen counters, omakase sushi, kaiseki, yakitori — including phone-only restaurants with no English and no online booking. If you found it on Tabelog, Google Maps or Instagram, send us the name or a link and we contact the venue directly in Japanese. We don't keep a curated "foreigner-friendly" list: you bring the venue, we make the contact.

When do I pay, and what is the refund policy? +

You pay nothing upfront. We contact the venue first and secure your reservation. Only once your seat is confirmed do we send a secure payment link in the chat. Because payment is collected after the reservation is already secured, all payments are final and non-refundable — including if your plans change later. If we can't secure your booking, you're simply never charged.

What if the venue is fully booked? +

You pay nothing. We'll tell you right away in the chat and can try your second-choice date, time or venue at no extra cost. You're only ever charged when a reservation is actually secured.

How far in advance should I book? +

For most restaurants, 2–7 days ahead is ideal. Popular venues — high Tabelog ratings, omakase counters, Michelin spots — often fill 2–4 weeks out. Same-day requests are welcome: weekday lunches and early evening slots have the best availability, while Friday–Sunday after 7pm is the hardest window anywhere in Japan.

Do Japanese restaurants charge cancellation fees? +

Many do — typically 50–100% of the course price for same-day cancellations or no-shows, consistent with standard Tabelog cancellation policies. No-shows are taken seriously in Japan and can get future bookings refused. We pass on the venue's exact policy with your confirmation, and if you need to cancel, message us as early as possible — we'll call the venue in Japanese on your behalf. Our service fee itself is non-refundable.

What name will the reservation be under? +

Whatever name you give us. Japanese venues simply match the name at the door to the name on the booking — ID is not normally required. We confirm the exact name with you, in katakana where it helps the venue, and include it in your written confirmation so check-in is seamless.

Can you book nightlife venues? +

Yes — we arrange table and seat reservations at licensed 18+ nightlife venues: cocktail and whisky bars, jazz clubs, karaoke, show restaurants, and licensed hostess and host clubs. Many of these venues are introduction-only or Japanese-phone-only, which is exactly the gap we cover. To be clear: we arrange the reservation only. Cover charges, table minimums and everything at the venue are between you and the venue, paid directly to them. See the dedicated Nightlife page for the full FAQ and booking form.

Do you handle dietary restrictions and special occasions? +

Yes. Tell us about allergies, vegetarian or halal requirements, birthdays, anniversaries, proposals or business dinners when you message us. We communicate them to the venue in Japanese at the time of booking. For strict allergies, note that some small counters can't guarantee separation — we'll relay the venue's honest answer.

Are there extra charges at Japanese restaurants I should know about? +

Often, yes. Izakaya commonly charge a small seating fee (otoshi, usually ¥300–¥800 per person, served with a small appetizer), and some venues require choosing a course menu in advance for groups. Nightlife venues may have cover charges or table minimums. None of this comes from us — but we ask the venue and flag anything notable in your confirmation so you're never surprised.

What payment methods do you accept? +

All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via a secure Stripe payment link sent in the chat once your reservation is secured. Charges appear under a neutral business name on your statement.
